WAKE UP, DARLING is a very funny look at Polly, a pretty young thing who wants to be an actress, and her husband, Don, who yearns to be a playwright and has a shelf of unproduced plays to his credit. Don understandably isn't too happy when Polly comes home with Deerfield Prescott, a very young guy who has written Broadway's next
musical hit--or so he tells Polly and Don. He's decided that Polly is just the person to star in his show and moves into their apartment to put the finishing touches to his masterpiece. So the young married couple's life is turned completely upside down by Deerfield and a bunch of other crazy, unwanted houseguests who also show up. This hilarious Broadway hit is sure to put a smile on your face!

AOY ART CENTER FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Email:artistsofyardley.org Artists of Yardley Second Annual Juried Show Yardley, PA April 5, 2013 -- The Artists of Yardley (AOY) presents its second annual Juried Show from May 3 through June 2. All are cordially invited to attend the opening reception on Friday,
May 3 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Art in various media will include vibrant paintings, provocative photographs, subtle drawings as well as small scale sculpture. All artwork is for sale. Exhibit hours are Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5p.m. through June 2. "We are thrilled to open our second annual juried show," said Joanne Donnelly Seglem, AOY Chair of Exhibitions. "A juried show is always highly competitive and this year's exhibit is no exception. It features some of the finest artwork from Pennsylvania and New Jersey area artists. We encourage the community to come and experience this not to be missed event. The juror for this exhibit, Lisa Tremper Hanover, selected just 89 pieces of art from the more than 400 submitted from AOY members and non-member artists alike. Ms. Hanover is the current Director & CEO of the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown. A graduate of the University of Richmond, Richmond, Virginia, Hanover received her MA in Art History from University of Southern California, Los Angeles, California. Ms. Hanover comes to the museum with a 25 year history as director of the Philip and Muriel Berman Museum of Art at Ursinus College. About the juried show Ms. Hanover stated that it was very hard to eliminate pieces because each work is the product of a creative spirit and the desire to compose something tangible from inspiration. I hope that the artists who were accepted will be delighted and those that I had to reject will take solace in the fact that I had to make choices and I would have taken one work by every artist who submitted if I could. About AOY: Established in 2004 as an arts organization in the Yardley area, Artists of Yardley has evolved into a community of more than 200 member artists representing a full spectrum of artistic disciplines. AOY, a non-profit 501(c)3, is dedicated to nurturing the creative spirit of the community by educating and encouraging individuals to experience, appreciate and share in the arts. AOY hosts several shows and activities throughout the year including: a juried arts show, photography and crafts show, members' show, a fall festival, holiday handcrafted gift show, and open studio tours. Children and adults may enroll in a variety of educational art workshops, classes, camps, and open studio sessions throughout the year. AOY Art Center is located at 949 Mirror Lake Road, Yardley, PA, on the Patterson Farm. Look for the AOY flag by the driveway entrance. Hollywood's The Fabulous Miss Wendy is already the sexiest rock star ever according to Revolver Magazine. Her intense energy, guitar playing, singing and songwriting skills helped earn the opportunity to play for the American troops stationed in Iraq twice. Her successful self titled debut was produced by Devo's Gerald Casale.
Wendy won a Rock City News Award for Best New Artist and she a VH-1 Recommended Artist award. Her biggest honor was when SLASH had The Fabulous Miss Wendy join him on tour. Nikita La Tijera Meow (Kitty) built a musical pedigree working with a virtual 'who's who' of the L.A. rock scene appearing with the likes of Buckcherry, Drowning Pool and Quiet Riot and winning over a rabid fan base. Their lead guitarist Jonny Kat (Cordell Crockett) also plays in Ugly Kid Joe. The Theadora Kelly Project is a Punk/Alternative influenced band led by one few Korean American frontwomen and is a presence in the rapidly emerging Pasadena music scene. Her foul mouth, satirical lyrics and adorably crude attitude will infiltrate your ears. Her sweet smile is deceptive and her music is not for the faint of heart. L.A.'s Mahi Gato is fronted by NOLA's Keisha Martin who also performs in operas and musicals. $19.50 http://www.st94.com/store/Femme-Fest-starring-The-Fabulous-Miss-Wendy-Hear-Kitty-Kitty-The-Theadora-Kelly-Project--Mahi-Gato-OSCARItem_1=FF.5.13.aspx

Mike Frank & Friends is a NJ/NY-based alternative rock and modern jam band that incorporates both electric and acoustic sounds. Mike Frank's lyrics spotlight seemingly small, yet significant moments in life, while the full band generates a large audio presence that takes you by the hand and leads you into a familiar dance. Each
live performance is personalized with improvisational segments, which take each song to a higher climax. Influences include: Dave Matthews Band, Phish, Moe, Grateful Dead, The Allman Brothers and Jimi Hendrix. "For me, music is a pool," Mike says of his writing process. "As you go through life, your pool fills; and when it's full, the music and lyrics create themselves. When the pool empties, you have to let life refill it with day-to-day experiences." Mike performed his first song, "This Land is Your Land" by Woody Guthrie, on a 3/4-scale guitar when he was four years. Throughout high school, he performed with a variety of bands, dabbling into a plethora of music genres, including punk, country and blue grass. While guitar and vocals are his forte, he also plays bass, drums and other stringed instruments. Since 2008, Mike Frank & Friends has built a solid, local fan base while performing songs from their first album, Yellow Rays, in the tri-state area. Several tracks from Yellow Rays can be heard on a variety of local college and public radio stations throughout New Jersey and Pennsylvania, as well a variety of music streaming sites, such as Last.fm and MontCo Radio. Yellow Rays can also be purchased for download at all major online web music outlets including iTunes, Amazon.com, and cdbaby.com. Mike Frank & Friends are completing their sophomore album "You Take The High Road", a more upbeat electric album with catchy, lyrically-driven melodies. In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Mike Frank founded Jammin' for Jersey: a committee which aids victims of disaster by hosting an ongoing series of non-profit concert events. The committee raised money for hurricane victims during their first event. Band member Mike O'Brien also sits on the committee board, which consists of a handful of local musicians and artists.
